Advert for Trek and working at the school

Home  /  Appeals  /  Current Page

After the success of last two year’s groups, it has been decided to hold a yearly visit for volunteering in the school for a minimum of 1 week and to trek to the source of the River (OumR’bia.) This is a 35k trek and it is hoped that each volunteer would be able to raise £800 each. A maximum of 10 people will be considered due to accommodation factors. This will be advertised in London on several school and university campuses with a view to teachers and students being able to do this during the summer half term break. (Dates expected 27th – 31st May 2013) Actual trip Sunday to Sunday

It does not matter what skill you feel you can bring. If you have a heart to reach out to those less fortunate than yourself and are able to give some of your time then we would like to hear from you.

We do need the following though this is by no means an exhaustive list:

  • Teachers
  • Women’s health and women’s rights
  • Counsellors
  • Child health primary care workers
  • Construction/Building/DIY

Please complete the enquiry form if you are interested in this life changing opportunity.

    Dear Hannah and Hannan,

I am taking 6 months off hospital clinical work to do a few things for myself. I know your annual trek is end of May but I just wanted to check whether you have any other anticipated visits to your village. I am keen to volunteer- first aid training/teaching preferably- if there’s a need,

    Best Wishes,
